2-Ply Twist Fingering

80/20 Superwash Merino Wool/Nylon; Fingering

400 yards/100 grams

$28 ($25 solid colorways/Lucky Strikes)

This is a favorite of mine because of its softness, versatility, and the gorgeous 2-ply twist. It's a flat yarn so it has a bit more drape than a typical 4-ply sock-weight yarn. For socks, it’s usually my go-to. Simple as that.

100% Non-Superwash Merino; 4-ply; 437 yards/100grams

Non-Superwash Merino Sport

100% Non-Superwash Merino; sport

100% SW BFL DK

100% Superwash Bluefaced Leicester; DK

246 yards/100 grams

$29 ($26 solid colorways/Lucky Strikes)

This yarn has a bit of a bite, but is still soft and lovely to work with. The BFL gives it a bit of luster and plenty of strength. A great yarn for all walks of knitting projects in the DK weight range. This is also a very rustic yarn with lots of character. Don’t be surprised if you stumble upon a few bits of hay in the fibers as you knit. It’s been known to happen with this one and, in my professional opinion, is a bit of a treat. It did come from a farm animal after-all. A favorite for thicker socks!

100% Non-Superwash Merino Worsted

*100% Untreated Merino Wool; worsted

218 yards/100 grams

$25 ($22 solid colorways/Lucky Strikes)

Classic worsted-weight yarn in all natural wool.

*Due to the nature of untreated wool yarn, non-Superwash yarn bases will show the dye-job less intensely. Speckles will be more like watercolor details and variegated colorways will be more subtle and blended.
